How can YOU, as a person, promote disability awareness?

Disability awareness is something I feel very strongly about.  Here is the text of my question about disability awareness on Yahoo! Answers:

How can we promote disability awareness?

I was inspired by Cindy Crawford's question "How can we make curing cancer a global priority?" I'm not saying cancer is not important, in fact, I think cancer research is very important. But what about all the disabilities out there that aren't as well publicized?

I have cerebral palsy, myself. I try to promote disability awareness as much as I can. But there are thousands of disabilities out there that people have never even heard of, or don't think are as important as big, well publicized diseases like cancer, or AIDS.

I think we should start in the schools-particularly in the middle and high schools. Kids at that age are so ignorant, and often those years are torture for a child with a disability. If we just took the time to explain to kids about disabilities, maybe kids with disabilities wouldn't feel so left out.

To find out more about disabilities, go to my website www.abilities4u.com. Disability awareness is something this country desperately needs. Provide it.

See? Disability awareness week is not the only time we need disability awareness.  We don't need it tomorrow, we don't need it later, we need it NOW! To show your support for my awareness campaign, copy and paste this code into your website (in case you can't tell, it says Abilities4u, I support Disability Awareness.)
