How many times a year do you get mail from various organizations, asking you to donate money? How many times do you glance at it, and then carelessly toss it aside, saying that you don't have the money? How many times has an organization tugged at your heartstrings-but you didn't donate? How many times have you said "I can't donate to everything?"
The One Dollar Campaign was inspired by the day when my parents got mail from both the Make A Wish Foundation and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in one day. My parents weren't going to donate anything-after all, they said, no one can donate to everything. Then I had an idea. Why didn't we donate one dollar, just one dollar, to every organization that crossed our paths? One dollar isn't a lot, and one dollar is better than nothing. One dollar can go towards treating and even curing certain disabilities and diseases. One dollar can make a wish come true. One dollar can change lives.
So that's why I've launched the One Dollar Campaign. I'm hoping that all of you who are reading this will join me. All you have to do is donate one dollar to every organization you encounter. It isn't hard. Just slip a dollar in the envelope and send it on its way. If you do decide to join me, I would like you to put a special banner on your Myspace or webpage. It says "I support the One Dollar Campaign". When people click on the image, they will be brought right back to this webpage, and hopefully, they will join in the One Dollar Campaign as well. Just copy and paste the code on your page. But only do it if you really and truly will donate one dollar to every organization that crosses your path. Just remember:
One dollar can change lives.
